Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning known as RPL is an assessment process that involves assessment of relevant prior learning including formal, informal and non-formal learning, to determine the credit outcomes of an individual application for credit.
RPL is generally a faster, cost effective and efficient way for people to obtain recognition for knowledge and skills they already possess without going through the process of taking time off work to attend formal face-to-face training.
If you have trade skills and experience but have never completed an apprenticeship, traineeship or gained a formal certificate, you can apply to have your skills assessed and be formally recognised as a tradesperson.
